Calendar Girl!

I was thrilled to have my image of a blazing sunset over the dunes of White Sands National Monument featured in The 2009 Nature Conservancy Calendar.

November 2009 - Features the image that was a finalist in their 2nd Annual Photo Contest for "Best Nature"

London

June took me far far away from the usual stomping grounds. My work in insurance took me to London!

I was born and raised there but hadn't been back since the early 70's. I was afraid that so many of the things that I loved so much about England would have changed, but to my delight I found that so much was still the same and many things were even better than I remembered, especially the food!

I spent most of my time with our LLoyds brokers in London. They treated me like a queen. I was wined (a lot) and dined (a lot). I did find some time to explore London. I played tourist and revisited the Tower of London, Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge. I spent a day just ferrying up and down the Thames hoping on and off to photograph along the way.

I took the train to Southhampton on day to visit long lost relatives. It was a wonderful wander down memory lane - I visited my grandmothers house and the beautiful village where I spent some of my most happy times as a kid.

The trip ended much too soon....another time I hope

Grand Teton National Park

June took me to the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. When I arrived it was socked in with a major snow storm. After a few days the clouds lifted and I presented with the most spectaclar views of the Mountains and the beautiful lakes as well as all the wildfife.

The days are long here - I was up at 4 am driving cautiously through the dark forests from Jackson Hole out into the valley to catch the sunrise at various locations. The Bison, Elk and Moose are abundant here and love to wander in front of me while driving in the dark.

The sun doesn't set until well after 9:00 pm - many miles and many hours spent exploring this vast and varied wilderness.

Havasupai

In May I accompanied 3 other photographers down to the Havasupai Reservation. This place is called Shangri La and rightly so - The land of blue green waters. The images from here are beyond belief - the blue of the water is almost unreal.

We helicoptered down the the village of Havasupai and hiked to the camp a few miles below. We spends three days climbing, hiking and wading for miles in an efforst to capture some amazing images from this magical place.

River Trip 2008

What a wonderful thing when you can make "a once in a lifetime" experience happen again!

This April and I had the pleasure of joining with friends, some old some new in a 12 day raft trip down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon.
